Cynthia has been a resident of Sedona for 25 years. In addition to her role as an owner and assistant winemaker at Javelina Leap Winery, she is an accomplished multi media artist.
It became apparent from a very early age there was something very unusual going on between eye and hand. "I was always creating something. Drawing, painting, creating huge murals on my bedroom walls, designing, building or moving my bedroom furniture around." As a young adult she concentrated mainly on wildlife, animal portraits and sculpting inspired by her love of animals. "Even though she was successful with her work in this area, Cynthia felt limited working within the confines of one style, media or surface and began to experiment in order to express her ideas in a more personally satisfying way. "Working with Robert Shields was a real catalyst for me. Because of that experience I see the world of art in inspiring new ways. Life is a canvas and each day a new surface to create something on."
